The Pennsylvania Mountains Healthcare Alliance's mission is to enhance the ability of its member hospitals to provide patient centered community-based care and to maintain their status as independent community hospitals.
PMHA covers the mountainous region on the eastern edge of the Northern Appalachian Mountain range. Each of the participating hospitals is located in a rural county. The PMHA member hospitals span a radius of ten counties, and in many instances the members are the sole hospital providers within their counties.
